What Counts as a Major Win in Golf?
In men’s professional golf, only four tournaments count toward a player’s major championship total:
- The Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club
- The PGA Championship
- The U.S. Open
- The Open Championship, often called the British Open
Therefore, David Skinns’ Korn Ferry Tour victories and PGA Tour top finishes do not add to his major-win total. A player must win one of these four elite events to be listed among major champions such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, and Scottie Scheffler.
