Ben Kohles’ Professional Golf Record
Born on February 24, 1990, in Cary, North Carolina, Ben Kohles played college golf at the University of Virginia before turning professional in 2012. He made an immediate impact by winning the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in his first Korn Ferry Tour start. That breakthrough was followed by another 2012 victory at the Cox Classic.
Kohles added three more Korn Ferry Tour titles during his outstanding 2023 season. His five career wins on the developmental circuit demonstrate a high level of consistency across a wide range of golf courses, from coastal resort layouts to tree-lined parkland venues and pressure-packed final-round environments.

Why Ben Kohles Has No Major Championship Win Yet
Winning a major requires more than strong week-to-week form. Major fields are limited, and entry is determined by exemptions, world ranking, qualifying performance, tour status and previous championship results. Kohles’ Korn Ferry Tour wins do not automatically provide lifetime major exemptions in the same way a Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open or Open Championship victory would.
Major venues also present a different test from standard tour courses. The Masters rewards precise iron play and knowledge of Augusta National’s severe putting surfaces. U.S. Open courses typically demand accuracy from the tee and patience in heavy rough. The PGA Championship features one of the deepest fields in golf, while The Open Championship requires shot creativity in wind, firm turf and links-style conditions.
Ben Kohles’ Strongest Career Achievement
Although the Ben Kohles major wins column is still empty, his 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season stands as a defining accomplishment. Kohles won three times, topped the season-long points standings and earned PGA Tour status. Winning three events in one season is a rare achievement and reflects the scoring ability, course management and mental resilience needed to compete at golf’s highest level.
For fans tracking Ben Kohles statistics, the most accurate summary is clear: 0 major championship wins, 0 PGA Tour wins, and 5 Korn Ferry Tour victories. His next objective is to convert his proven developmental-tour success into sustained PGA Tour results, major appearances and eventually a chance to contend on golf’s biggest stages.
